ANUPA Third Annual Fall Council ~ New Urban Codes

The Association of New Urbanism in Pennsylvania is pleased to announce our third annual Fall Council. This one-day conference will explore innovations in coding for good urban design. We have an exciting program scheduled, including the following sessions:

Morning Keynote Address: “Overview of Form-Based Codes and the SmartCode” with Peter Katz, Board Member of the Form- Based Code Institute and former Executive Director of the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU)

Morning Panel Discussion: "Implementing Traditional Neighborhood Development in Pennsylvania", moderated by Jason Duckworth, panelists include Jim Fuller on Eagleview, Tom Comitta on Lantern Hill, Wendi Kapustin on Bryn Eyre, Will Selman on the Hess Farm, and Sandy Sorlien on the Smart Code

Afternoon Discussion Sessions: How can we use code innovations to support good urban development in Southeast Pennsylvania?

Afternoon Speaker: "Municipalities Planning Code Update: Pennsylvania TND (Article VII-A)", Representative Bob Freeman

Technique Showcase: Preparing a "Manual of Written and Graphic Design Guidelines", Mark Evans, Looney Ricks Kiss.

Directions to the Union League

The Union League is located on Broad Street between Sansom and Walnut Streets. The Walnut Street stop on the Broad Street subway (orange line) is just steps away. Please see the Union League website for driving directions.

 

Union League Dress Code

The Union League enforces the following dress code: Business casual is defined as a collared shirt and slacks for men and appropriate attire for women. Jeans, denim wear, athletic attire, tee shirs, shorts, baseball caps, sneakers or tattered clothes are NEVER permitted on the first or second floor of the League house (where the restaurants and meeting rooms are located).

 

CNU XV Host Committee Activities
